Staking – For First-Time Wallet Users

To earn Cardano staking rewards, you need to complete the following steps:

Open the official Lace website (https://www.lace.io) in Chrome or another browser, then click the “Add to browser” button.

Before proceeding, click the browser’s address bar and make sure that the URL is the genuine https://www.lace.io website.

When the Lace extension page appears in the Chrome Web Store, click “Add to Chrome.”

When the confirmation message appears, click “Add Extension.”

You can pin the Lace extension to your browser toolbar for quick and easy access.

Click the Lace icon to open Lace.

Set a password that you will use to access and manage your wallet.

Select the currency you want to use. (In most cases, you can leave the default setting and simply click “Finish Setup.”)

On the Portfolio screen, click the gear icon in the bottom-right corner.

On the Settings screen, click “Account Management.”

On the Account Center screen, click the “Settings” button to the right of “Lace Wallet #0.”

Click “Verify Recovery Phrase.”

Enter the password you entered earlier.

The recovery phrase pop-up will appear. Click “Show Recovery Phrase,” and write down the 24 words in the exact order shown on paper or another secure medium.

Once you have written them down, click “Next.”

In the recovery phrase verification pop-up, enter the 24 words you wrote down earlier, separating each word with a single space. Once you have entered all 24 words, click “Verify.”

If you see the screen below, you’re all set!

Never share the recovery phrase you wrote down with anyone, and be sure to store it securely.

Click the leftmost icon in the menu bar to open the Portfolio screen.

On the Portfolio screen, click the “↓” button.

A QR code and your wallet address will be displayed in the Receive pop-up. Click the “Copy Address” button to copy the address to your clipboard.

Use the copied address as the recipient address when withdrawing or transferring ADA from an exchange or other service.

Click the second icon from the left in the menu bar to open the Staking Center.

Scroll down on the Staking Center page and click the “Stake” button.

Enter “NAP” in the “Search pools” field to find NAP. Once NAP appears in the search results, click on it.

The NAP stake pool information will be displayed. Please make sure that all the pool details are correct. In particular, carefully verify the Pool ID to ensure that you are delegating to the correct pool.

If the Pool ID is correct, click the “Delegate” button.

The staking details and the transaction details will be displayed.

If this is your first time staking, a 2 ADA deposit is required. This deposit will be returned to you when you deregister your staking account.

In addition, a blockchain transaction fee of approximately 0.175 ADA is required as of July 2026. Please note that this is a transaction fee and is non-refundable.

After reviewing these details, click the “Delegate” button again.

Enter the password you set up earlier, then click “Confirm.”

Once you see the screen below, your staking setup is complete! Click “Go to Staking Center” to return to the previous screen.

The following steps will configure your wallet to abstain from all governance votes.

Click the second button from the right in the menu bar to open the “DApp Explorer.”

Enter “gov” in the search box to find “Cardano GovTool.”

Once the “Cardano GovTool” details are displayed, click the “Launch DApp” button.

When the “Cardano GovTool” website appears, make sure the address is “https://gov.tools”. Once you have confirmed the address, click the “Connect” button.

A pop-up window like the one shown below will appear. Click “Lace.”

A pop-up window like the one shown below will appear. Select your account, make sure that “Cardano GovTool” and “https://gov.tools” are displayed, and then click the “Approve” button.

If a pop-up like the one shown below appears, your browser and Lace wallet have been successfully connected.

Next, select “DRep Directory” from the menu on the left, then click the “Automated Voting Options” dropdown under “Delegation Options.”

You will see the “Abstain from Every Vote” option. Click the “Delegate” button below it.

A pop-up will appear again, showing the transaction confirmation screen. A transaction fee of approximately 0.17 ADA will be required. Review the transaction details and fee, then click the “Confirm” button.

Enter the password you set up earlier, then click the “Confirm” button.

It may take a few minutes for the transaction to be confirmed.

Once the “Delegate” button disappears and the title changes to “You have delegated …”, the process is complete!

As a precaution, click the “Disconnect” button in the bottom-left corner of the screen to disconnect your browser from Lace.
